UPDATE

Hey everyone.

I feel so guilty for being absent these past months.
I've had people posting news for me, thanks again guys!

As some of you know I am insanely busy with College. I'm in "Media Arts", aka film/tv production. It is one of the hardest courses in Ontario. It's really hard to get into too. That being said, I've had no free time at all to work on this site.

BUT, my last day before summer is April 18th, and the assignments are starting to dwindle right now so I will be working on a Love Guru layout ASAP! I PROMISE!

Mark Waters And Mike Myers Fantasize About Return to ‘Walter Mitty’

For Mark Waters, it’s like a daydream become reality: The “Mean Girls” director revealed to MTV News that he may once again pick up the reigns of “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” three years after he lost his first chance at the project due to Hurricane Katrina.

“Mike Myers is taking it over completely, throwing out the screenplay. He’s starting over with a new screenplay that he’s going to write,” Waters said. “I may end up circling back to it because Mike and I have developed things together. If his screenplay ends up really great I might end up jumping back into it with him.”

If Waters ever does wind up getting “Mitty” made, it’ll be the culmination of a fantasy worthy of, well, Mitty himself - a beleaguered daydreamer who fantasizes about intrigue and adventure in both the short story by James Thurber and 1947 movie adaptation starring Danny Kaye.

But like Mitty’s daydreams of winning the girl, Waters got THIS close once before.

“We had a green-lit movie at Paramount, it was ready to go. I came right to the edge of the cliff and was going to make that movie with Owen Wilson and Scarlett Johansson, and basically we were shooting in New Orleans and starting to build our stages when Katrina hit,” Waters recalled. “We had to kind of to drop back and reconfigure, and suddenly Owen was taking other projects and I was never available.”

A poster for Mike Myers' The Love Guru

This summer one Mike Myers is returning to our cinemas screen as he brings another of his famous characters to the big screen in THE LOVE GURU. Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake, Romany Malco and Verne Troyer are all up for some fun in this new movie, which hits June 20th. Courtesy of the IMP Awards, the poster for said movie is now available to view online.

The film revolves arounf Myer's character who helps an NHL team whose players are involved in a love triangle with a beautiful woman. Verne Troyer will play the team's coach. Hilarious!!!!

"Shrek" Leads Toon Nominees at Kids Choice Awards

Ratatouille, Bee Movie, Shrek the Third, and The Simpsons Movie will battle it out for Favorite Animated Movie at Nickelodeon's 21st Annual Kids' Choice Awards, the network announced on Thursday.

Alvin and the Chipmunks and Transformers are competing with each other and with Are We Done Yet? and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End in the Favorite Movie category.

Favorite Cartoon nominees are Avatar: The Last Airbender, Ed, Edd and Eddy, The Simpsons, and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Cameron Diaz, Mike Myers, and Eddie Murphy, all from Shrek the Third, were nominated in the Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie category, along with Jerry Seinfeld (Bee Movie) and Kirsten Dunst Spider-Man 3).

The Love Guru Update

(December 7, 2007 - Toronto, Ontario) -- After three months of work and more than 500-thousand feet of film, work on the new Mike Myers feature, The Love Guru is shifting from Toronto to Los Angeles.

Thanks to technology, the original 35mm film was transferred to digital format and then uploaded into a high-end non-linear editing system after each day of shooting. In fact, the post-production team had two complete Avid Adrenaline HD systems to work with. As one edit suite was being packed up yesterday, assistant editor Richard Molina took a few moments to talk with Northernstars.ca "What we did here was an assembly edit. Once in Los Angeles the fine cut will begin, the music will be added and all the rest of the final post-production phase will happen."

Molina has worked on films like Miss Congeniality, The Clearing, the 2006 film Nacho Libre and many others. Working under the supervision of editor Billy Weber - who spent a lot of time in Toronto on this project - Molina shared assistant editor duties with Doug Caron whose credits include work on films like The Divine Ryans, Snow Day, Dracula 2000, The Sum of All Fears and The Tuxedo to name only a few.

The Love Guru is in good hands with someone like Billy Weber. The Oscar-nominated editor of films like Top Gun and Days of Thunder, his work includes a string of top-grossing comedies including the Eddie Murphy films, 48 Hrs and Beverly Hills Cop II. Other credits include Grumpier Old Men, Miss Congeniality, and Nacho Libre.

The Love Guru is the first movie the Toronto-born Mike Myers has shot in his home town. In case you were wondering about how much film was shot, 500,000 feet of film is equal to about 90 hours of footage. The average feature film runs between 90 and 120 minutes although many films are longer or shorter. It's still too early in the process to know exactly when The Love Guru will be released.

Mike at the Leafs Game

Mike is currently at the Air Canada Centre to support the Toronto Maple Leafs against Pittsburgh. I only randomly tuned in during second period, but I believe it was announced that he got to drop the puck in the beginning. They are frequently showing him on the air, so go watch!! GO LEAFS GO!

Timberlake to join Myers

Justin Timberlake has joined the cast of the new Mike Myers comedy ''The Love Guru,'' taking the role of a professional hockey player named Jacques Grande.
Timberlake and Myers were part of the voice ensemble for ''Shrek the Third.''

Myers will play Pitka, who gains fame in the world of self-help and spirituality.

Verne Troyer, Myers' "Mini-Me" sidekick in the Austin Powers movies, plays Coach Cherkov, and Jessica Alba plays the team's owner.

Jessica Alba is also in on the project.

The movie, which will begin shooting next month, is scheduled to open June 20, 2008.

Gallery

I've been working on fixing the gallery and came upon at least 1000 spam user accounts and comments. I tried to go through and save the accounts that were real.. but I may have accidentally deleted some that belonged to people. If so, i'm afraid you'll have to create a new user account. I've made it administrator approved now so this won't happen again. I fixed the template. I've also seemed to have lost some pictures. If anyone has any of the interview pictures saved on your computer could you email them to me:

Movie Update

I was surfing imdbpro and found out that the "untitled self help comedy" may in fact be called "The Love Guru" and is set to be released July 11th, 2008. This is all subject to change of course.

I updated the movie projects thing on the right with some dates, etc. I'm going to try and fix the gallery and get my old template back. For those who were wondering what was going on. My site was hacked and used in paypal fraud scams through my gallery, so they had to delete some stuff and I need to figure out how to get it back to looking pretty.
I also desperately want to make a new layout. So it would be much appreciated if you guys could leave me some comments with some features you'd like to see, pictures used, etc. Saves a busy gal like me from having to do TOO much work haha.

Need Screencaptures

Hey y'all

nothing new on the news front. Does anyone out there know how to do screen captures/"frame grabs" ? I have the programs to do it, it's just I have no time or patience to go through and get pictures of all the movies that aren't completed in the gallery. If someone is wanting to have this job position, comment back here and I can set you up. It would be MUCH APPRECIATED and you'd be forever in my debt.

About the site name, I'm thinking maybe calling it the Mike Myers Network, since the domain is .net, and we are a network of fans! laughing What y'all think? Got a better idea?

Mike Attends Sean Connery's Award Honour

Hollywood veteran Sean Connery admitted that he was overjoyed to be honoured with the prestigious American Film Institute's lifetime achievement award on Friday night.

The former Bond actor received a standing ovation from the star-studded audience, which included 'Star Wars' creator George Lucas, as well as legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg and veteran actor Harrison Ford.

Adding comedy to the ceremony was 'Austin Powers' actor Mike Myers, who appeared in a Scottish kilt as a tribute to Connery, a proud Scotsman.

Myers quipped: "Men want to be him, women want him, and in my case I both want to be him and want him.

Myers, wearing a Scottish kilt, opened the show by telling the crowd that his most successful big-screen alter-ego, Austin Powers, is based in large part on Connery's portrayal of Bond.

"No James Bond, no Austin Powers," Myers said. "No Austin Powers, no private jet for me."

Well just in case you're wondering... I'm not dead/ignoring the site.
In fact, I've spent the past 5 days working on a new layout. I'm still in the middle of coding it and getting it ready. At this point I can't really tell when I'll be finished. I'll say anytime from Saturday to Monday. It MIGHT take longer because i'm working on updating and changing things whilst redoing it all, just because it's easier that way. BUT just know that you will have a hot new layout with some new features SOON!

Mike Myers to star in robot comedy

Mike Myers is to play the lead role in a new comedy called 'How to Survive a Robot Uprising'.

Variety reports that the film tells the story of a technician whose job it is to monitor the growing presence of robots and find ways to stop them from taking over.

The film is based on the factual book of the same name by Daniel H Wilson.

The author is studying for his PhD at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University in the US.

And the title for Shrek 3 is...

Dreamworks have apparently slapped a title on the bus-shelter day bills of “Shrek 3”. The film will be sent out in tin cans as “Shrek the Third”, which fits in well with the plot of the film – a ribtickle on the old King Arthur myth, among other mickeying.

The new film finds Shrek and Fiona reluctantly reigning over Far, Far Away. But if they can find the heir to the throne and bring him back, they can return to their swamp. While Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots are in search of the heir, Fiona holds off a coup d'etat by Prince Charming.

Still a while to go before tickets go on sale though – it doesn’t start until May 18, 2007.

Newish Layout / Gallery

You may notice a SLIGHTLY different layout.. if you don't.. REFRESH! While i've been in the process of restoring a new and improved gallery, i'm come across a TON of amazing high quality and NEW Mike pics! They will BLOW YOUR MIND! I'm working as hard as I can to get this gallery up and running. Hopefully before the end of the week! I've installed a new guestbook AGAIN, because the other program just gets spammed to death. I hope this will turn out okay. Once the Gallery is finished, I will try and fix the issues in the forum (pictures and rankings not showing up). Gallery Issues

crying I seem to have lost all new pics I've added. I'm not sure how far back this database restoration goes... but all the category work I did is gone. I'm going to just be installing a new gallery and re-doing it all that way, if people have time to go through the gallery that's up and let me know which pics are missing - that would be wonderful. Sorry guys :( Nothing has been done yet, because i'm busy working on restoring the Mike Myers fanlisting, because all those databases had to be deleted as well. I have over 1000 members, and i've only managed to get 1/2 restored so far. My college may be having a strike, so if that's the case, I'll be able to continue sorting out these frustrating issues.
